Things have been extremely slow around here. We haven’t been doing much besides twittling our thumbs till we go stir crazy. The Cicadas exploded a few weeks ago and have only just recently started dropping dead, leaving an opening for the lightening bugs who have started coming out. In our “off time” We turned a pretty good sized section of clay in the backyard into an almost functioning garden, complete with plants. My uncle checked out our car since our breaks haven’t been working very well, he couldn’t find a problem and said we probably just need new breaks and new tires. We’ve been so frustrated with the lack of activity that we just had to get out of the house yesterday. Dan and I have been wanting to go to this park since we had a picnic there with my parents on my birthday and saw a big female deer just hanging out in the middle of the field. We packed up the car and loaded Annabelle in the back seat and drove off to the park. We spent the hottest part of the day lounging back in the river and skipping rocks. Annabelle wasn’t the biggest fan of the water, outright refusing to swim but being content on laying in the water, so long as only her belly and legs were wet. After a few hours of splashing around with the turtles we gathered our things and headed home. Daniel almost flipped when he found two itty-bitty leeches on his feet. I thought it was funny.
My Grandma and Aunt headed out on a trip today so we decided it would be another good park day. The three of us headed into Nashville to Centennial Park where, for some reason, they have a full scale replica of the Parthenon. Don’t ask me why. We walked the path’s and watched the ducks and geese swim in circles with their little babies.
So I guess this weekend will be spent watering plants and playing Rummy until Monday. Turns out me and Dan will have some work lined up on Monday. Can’t wait, we’re anxious to get working.
